About GradePro
The company you'd be working for, GradePro, builds software that makes it quick and easy for students and parents across the country to check grades, attendance, and assignments on the go. We're focused on creating the very best experience for our users—through user friendly design and robust features.
The job
As GradePro's first dedicated mobile engineer, you'll play a big role in rewriting GradePro into React Native. Your first endeavor will be to create a new Android version of GradePro using React Native, before migrating the iOS version of GradePro to React Native. Once this is complete, your role will be to develop new features and improvements—leveraging the benefits of React Native to iterate at a faster pace. And of course, there will be bugs to fix and OS releases to stay up-to-date with along the way.
Requirements & skills
- Pride in your work. You genuinely take pride in designing software that is highly polished, maintainable, and intuitive. You care about writing easy-to-understand code and perfect a feature's functionality before moving on.
- Quick learner. You have an innate ability to learn quickly, especially when it comes to working with new codebases or technologies. You strive for a thorough understanding of the tools you use, rather than hacking things together.
- Great problem solver. You are persistent and resourceful when solving challenges, yet not afraid to seek help. You choose the solution that's harder when it's better in the long-run.
- Past experience. A solid understanding of JavaScript and React is required. Experience with the other technologies we use at GradePro would be a plus (TypeScript, React Native, iOS, Android, and many more).

Per our open salary calculator, the starting salary for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 per year.
Other details
This is a full-time role at our headquarters in Spring, TX. You'll be expected to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, during our flexible working hours. At this time, we are unable to sponsor visas.
